Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensors - EGT Sensors
 An EGT sensor measures the exhaust gas temperature of a combustion engine. The EGT Sensor system comprises of an EGT Gauge, in conjunction with an EGT Sensor and is most commonly used in turbo equipped vehicles.
The EGT sensor can be positioned in a number of locations in the exhaust system. If the sensor is installed after the turbo, the exhaust temperature can be monitored. If the sensor is installed at the manifold collector before the turbo, the turbine inlet temperature can be monitored. Installation before the turbo will record higher temperatures and react faster to the engine’s condition than installation after the turbo. EGT Sensor systems are commonly used to fine-tune race engines.
